What is the difference between applied vinyl and a digital print?

A few years ago almost all custom banners were made using applied vinyl. The basic method is that you start with a completed blank banner with hems and grommets. In our example here we started with a yellow 4x6 foot banner. We then take the color of copy you want to use(in this case red and black) and place the vinyl roll in a plotter. Using a computer the plotter will then "cut" out the lettering according to your proof. The excess vinyl is peeled away and we are left with just the lettering or logo. This lettering is then mask with a tape and "applied" to the banner. The vinyl we use has a 5 year adhesion rating.

In contrast, a digital print is just that. With a digital printed banner you have the option to add full color photo's, logo's, or artwork. You can have your copy with a full color background. With full color you are only limited by your imagination. After the print is complete the material is then trimmed, hemmed, and grommeted. We print on 13 and 16 ounce material and use inks that are rated for 3 years in outdoor conditions. What is the lead time for production?

Do your banners come with hems and grommets?

Yes, our banners come standard with 4 sided hems and grommets every two feet on the top and bottom.  We can also produce banners with pole pockets or nylon webbing and d-rings for banners going over a road.

What type of files do you accept for artwork?

If you have your logo or your entire full color design ready to go you can upload your file using this link.  We can accept jpg, gif, tif, eps, ai, cdr, pdf, psd, or flexi sign pro files.

Where can I find clipart for my banner?

Check out clipart.com for literally millions of images.  You can also go to www.dreamstime.com for some great photos.  Just send us the item number you would like and we will include this in your proof.

What does 13 or 16 ounce vinyl mean?

Vinyl banner material is rated by the weight.  The 13 ounce material simply means the material weighs 13 ounces per square yard of material.  We use 13 or 14 ounce material for our single sided banners and 16 ounce material for double sided banners(this material also includes a "block-out" layer in the material to keep a shadow from showing though on the other side of the banner)  We would highly suggest to avoid 8 or 10 ounce material as what may seem like a slight difference in weight is actually quite significant.

How much do double sided banners cost?

Double sided banners are 1.5 times the cost of a single sided banner, ie. a 3x6 banner is $54.00 for single sided and 1.5 x 54.00 for double sided or $81.00 for a double sided 3x6. 

I can't figure out how to order a banner on your site?

The only type of banner you can place an order for without a proof are blank banners.  For all custom vinyl banners we will provide a professional proof for you after you send us a proof request or upload your artwork.  Then your proof link is emailed to you and you can then add your banner to your shopping cart and check out online.
